The role of cancer-associated fibroblasts in the occurrence and development of gastrointestinal cancer
As a high-risk tumor, digestive tract tumors occupy a total of five of the top six most prevalent cancers worldwide.Cancer progression depends not only on the cancer cell itself, but also on the physiological state and composition of the tumor microenvironment(TME)in which it is located.Cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs),as the main type of cell in TME,serve as an important role in cancer progression. The review aims to interpret the role of CAFs in gastrointestinal cancer and summarize the anti-tumor strategries by targeting CAFs in gastrointestinal cancer. This article aims to provide theoretical guidance for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer in the future.
