Analysis of influencing factors of neonatal hypoglycemia in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective:To explore the influencing factors of neonatal hypoglycemia in pregnant women with gestational dia-betes mellitus. Methods:Pregnant women and newborns with gestational diabetes mellitus during vaginal delivery in the Affil-iated Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital of Nantong University from February to October in 2021 were selected as the research object. The oral glucose tolerance test value, glycated hemoglobin value,BMI,gestational week, total duration of labor and newborn's birth weight, umbilical blood glucose value and other clinical data were collected to analyze the influencing factors of hypoglycemia in newborns in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus, and with multiple linear regression to analyse the influencing factors of neonatal hypoglycemia in pregnant women with diabetes during pregnancy. Results:A total of 536 newborns were included, and the results of multiple linear regression showed that the influencing factors of neonatal blood glucose include gestational week, labor analgesia, umbilical blood glucose, umbilical blood pH value, and newborn birth weight. These variables can explain 42.2%of post-natal blood glucose variation in newborns.Among them, the correlation coefficient between cord blood glucose and neonatal peripheral blood glucose at half an hour of birth is r=0.510,P<0.001.After controlling for the confounding factors, umbilical blood glucose is still the factor influencing the blood glucose of newborns in pregnant women with diabetes. Conclusion:Gestational week, labor analgesia, umbilical blood glucose, umbilical blood pH value and newborn birth weight are the main influencing factors of hypoglycemia in newborns of pregnant women with dia-betes umbilical blood glucose can serve as a simple non-invasive reference indicator for predicting neonatal hypoglycemia.
