The phase angle in patients with gastrointestinal tumors and its correlation with nutritional status
Objective:To investigate the correlation between phase angle(PA)and nutritional risks and malnutrition in patients with gastrointestinal malignancies, and to analyze the influencing factors. Methods:The general and clinical data of 51 patients with gastrointestinal tumors admitted to the Oncology Department of First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from October 2022 to March 2023 were collected by random sampling.Nutrition risk screening 2002(NRS 2002)was used for nutrition screening and patient subjective global assessment scale was used for nutrition evaluation.Non-hand grip strength was measured by a CAMRY portable gripmeter. The bioelectrical impedance technology was used to measure the indicators of human body. Results:The cut-off value of PA for the diagnosis of nutritional risk was 4.85°.When PA was less than 4.85°,the patients were more likely to have nutritional risk. The proportion of patients with nutritional risk in low PA group(90.9%)was significantly higher than that in high PA group(27.5%).The results of multivariate analysis showed that BMI,albumin and non-dominant grip strength were the influencing factors of PA(P<0.05).Conclusion:PA is an effective indicator to reflect the nutritional risk of patients with gastrointestinal tumors. The analysis results of influencing factors of PA provide a new idea for clinical nutritional risk screening.
