PBK promotes radiotherapy resistance in prostate cancer patients
Objective:To investigate the effect and prognostic significance of PDZ-binding-kinase(PBK)in radiotherapy for prostate cancer. Methods:The radiotherapy resistance genes in prostate cancer cells were downloaded from the gene expres-sion omnibus(GEO)database, and the samples meeting the threshold were selected. The differences in PBK expression between prostate cancer tissues and normal tissues were analyzed. The survival curve of prostate cancer was drawn based on the expression of PBK.Finally,Western Blot was used to detect the expression of PBK under different radiotherapy doses. Results:PBK was the radiotherapy resistance gene of prostate cancer, and PBK was highly expressed in tumor cells. In patients with high PBK expression, the former overall survivals was lower. When the radiotherapy dose was increased, the expression of PBK was also increased. Conclusion:PBK can promote radiotherapy resistance in patients with prostate cancer, and may be a potential therapeutic target for prostate cancer.
