Experiment on Grafting Nursery of Ulmus pumila in Yinchuan
Through grafting nursery research on Ulmus pumila, we discussed various influencing factors of the survival rate of grafting of Ulmus pumila, these factors include different methods of the processing mode of rootstocks, grafting time and grafting pattern. We find the best technical system of grafting nursery of Ulmus pumilae. The results show that ulmus pumi-la and mountain elm both can serve as Ulmus pumila rootstocks. Ulmus pumila can achieve the highest survival rate by using the method of bark grafting and the survival rate can even reach 97.3%. They have the highest growth quantity in early to mid March and we can take breeding activities of grafted seedlings of Ulmus pumila during this period.
