RNAi:A Novel Approach Against Bacterial Resistance
Bacterial infections have become increasingly serious in recent years, posing significant threats to humans and livestock.Antibiotics remain the primary means of treating bacterial infections, yet the use of antibiotics enhances bacterial resistance. The emergence of RNA interference(RNAi)may offer hope in treating bacterial infections,as small RNA molecules can block the synthesis of resistance genes, thereby preventing their resistance and proliferation.Currently, this approach is more commonly implemented in viral infection studies in mammals and is also applied in treating bacterial infections in fish, but it has not been directly targeted at specific antibiotic-resistant genes. This paper aims to elucidate the mechanism of RNAi and its progress in research related to the prevention and control of resistant bacterial infections, further revealing the promising prospects of this technology in combating resistant pathogenic infections.
