Characteristics of AMF and DSE Colonization of Ningxia Sand-Grown Medicinal Plants and Identification of DSE
To study the colonization characteristics of AMF(arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi)and DSE(dark septate endophytes)in the roots of sand-grown medicinal plants in Ningxia,as well as the diversity of DSE species, root samples from 13 healthy plant species including Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bunge,Sophora alopecuroides Linn, and Caragana korshinskii were collected in Ningxia.Microscopic observation was used to investigate the colonization characteristics of AMF and DSE.Morphological and molecular biology techniques were applied to study the diversity of DSE species. The results show that all 13 sand-grown medicinal plants were colonized by AMF;12 of the plants, except Euphorbia esula Linn, were colonized by DSE;and the colonization rate of AMF was higher than that of DSE.Four strains of DSE were isolated from 5 plant species, which were identified as Cladosporium cladosporioides,Alternaria sp.,Aspergillus fumigatus, and Paraphoma chrysanthemicola.
