On Lu Jiuyuan's Agricultural Philosophy and Its Contemporary Implications
Lu Jiuyuan(1139-1193),the great Confucian scholar of Southern Song Dynasty,unified the mind of human and universe,which had a profound influence on Chinese traditional culture.Lu Jiuyuan's agricultural philosophy is the extension of his mind theory to the field of agriculture.He put forward his views on farmers,land,taxation,farming,agricultural technology,water conservancy and crops,which had the characteristics of harmony between man and nature in Confucianism and Taoism.As a native of Chu area,his agricultural thought also had the spiritual characteristics of Chu culture.Lu Jiuyuan's agricultural phi-losophy has important implications for modern agricultural development concept of China.
