Among the tea masters in the late Ming Dynasty,those of noble birth,who were rich in wealth,leisure time,friends,social resources and well educated,were particularly active.Fei Yuanlu,from Yanshan of Jiangxi Province,was born in a family with official positions through imperial examinations.Without taking official positions,Fei Yuanlu enjoyed a leisure and reclusive life style and indulged himself in tea all his life.He was a representative of the reclusive tea masters of noble birth in the late Ming Dynasty.Possessing a famous garden,he could have good space for his tea drinking life with tasting and appreciat-ing tea as daily activities.Accordingly,he learned about things and wrote lots of poems and articles,which in turn condensed his tea culture practice into art and theory.
