Research on Serrated Sickle with Grate Pattern in Pre-Qin Dynasty
The serrated sickles with grate pattern in Pre-Qin dynasty were mainly unearthed in Wuyue and Jingchu regions,with various forms and regional differences.Among them,the straight-backed serrated sickles without holes are more common in Wuyue and Jingchu regions,and the curved-backed serrated sickles with holes are more common in the Chu kingdom.In the process of inter-regional exchanges,the serrated sickles with grate pattern completed the transformation in shape and use.With the rise and fall of the forces of the Wu,Yue and Chu kingdoms,the serrated sickles with grate pattern ushered in two flourishing periods of inter-regional exchanges from the middle and late Spring and Autumn period to the early Warring States period and the middle and late Warring States period.
