Improvement of Sericulture Industry in Modern Anhui Province
The improvement of modern Anhui's sericulture industry was difficult.In the late Qing Dynasty and the early pe-riod of Republic of China,the sericulture industry in Anhui experienced rapid development,but plummeted in the late 1920s.Then,the government intensified its efforts to improve and promote the sericulture industry,trying to reverse the recession of the sericulture industry.After the outbreak of the nationwide War of Resistance,the sericulture industry in Anhui shrank and de-clined again.Through the joint efforts of local officials,sericulture organizations,silk cocoon merchants and thousands of farmers,some achievements were made in the improvement of sericulture industry in modern Anhui Province,but it was also subject to many constraints.Modern Anhui province,which is adjacent to Jiangsu,Zhejiang Provinces and Shanghai,was in lack of deep processing technology in the silkworm cocoon and silk industry chain,thus often playing the role of raw material production.Re-viewing and sorting out the development and evolution of modern Anhui sericulture industry is not only helpful to objectively and completely explore the development of modern Anhui sericulture industry,but also provides reference for the development of sericulture industry and rural revitalization in the new era.
