In Shuofu,a work compiled by Tao Zongyi and continued by Tao Ting consisting of 120 volumes,the volume Da Zao Pu(Jujube Catalogue)collected over 70 varieties of jujube under the authorship of Liu Guan from the Yuan Dynasty.The textual research shows that there might be some doubts about the author Liu Guan in Yuan Dynasty due to the fact that the names of Chijin Mengguwei and Hami in Ming Dynasty appeared in the text.The number of jujube varieties collected should be 64,instead of 75,73,72 and 37,which are currently accepted.The number for initial jujube names in Da Zao Pu should be 10,not 42 recorded in Chinese Fruit Tree Chronicles(Jujube Volume).Da Zao Pu,with dozens of notes,widely collects various jujube names,which might be called China's first"monograph"about jujube with supplementing and literature values that could not be ignored.
