Exploration of Fishery Relics at Tangfang Site in Yunyang of Chongqing
The Tangfang site is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Yunyang County,Chongqing.The age of the site was from the Neolithic period to the Ming and Qing dynasties.Fishery was one of the main means of livelihood for the an-cient residents of this site.At the site,not only were net sinkers and fish bones unearthed,but also some uniquely shaped ash pits and ash ditches were found.From the shape,structure,size and depth,the use of these ash pits and ash ditches were related to fishery activities.The ash pits were used to store live fishes for a short time,the ash ditches were used to store wooden fishing boats during the off-season.
