As a cornerstone of national policy, agricultural development is closely linked to the fate of the nation. From the Pre-Qin era to the present, governments have considered agricultural development a fundamental national policy, emphasizing the importance of promoting and supporting agriculture.During the Song Dynasty,a peak of Chinese civilization, the agricultural advocacy system was further refined. This period produced a wealth of agricultural advocacy literature, including essays, poems, labor documents, and illustrations of farming and weaving. In the context of the flourishing of Neo-Confucianism,the agricultural advocacy and labor writings by Song Confucian scholars in local governance not only promoted agricultural production, but also played a regulatory role in rural social order and education.By studying the agricultural advocacy writings of thinkers such as Zhu Xi,Zhen Dexiu, and Wei Liaoweng, the Song Confucians'practices in promoting agricultural development and advancing social governance in rural areas can be sorted out, which may offer insights for contemporary efforts in agriculture-related work.
