Floral anthography in the Song Dynasty represents a compilation of knowledge about flowers by scholars of that era,reflecting the practices in flower cultivation,daily life,and literary tastes.Research on anthography is of significant value and importance.Systematic studies on the Song Dynasty anthography begin relatively late in academic circles.Before 2000,the focus was predominantly within the realms of agronomy and horticulture,with limited specialized research on the Song Dynasty anthography.Research from 2000 to the present exhibits distinct phases:from 2000 to 2010,notable achievements were made in textual verification;from 2011 to 2017,as interest in the aesthetic culture of flowers rose,research centered on the aesthetics and cultural aspects of the Song Dynasty anthography,culminating in a peak period of anthography compilation and publication.Since 2018,the diversification of research perspectives and methods has led to more detailed and in-depth findings,resulting in innovative researches in aesthetics,cultural studies,history,and philosophy.However,certain areas remain underdeveloped or historically unclear.Therefore,the future deepening and expansion of research on the Song Dynasty anthography will require in-terdisciplinary collaboration and enhanced study of related historical materials.
