Research on the evaluation of carrying capacity of eco-tourism in minority regions
With the rapid development of the tourism industry, the impact of high-intensity natural resource development and utilization on the society and environment in ethnic areas has received widespread attention. However, research on the carrying capacity of eco-tourism environment is mostly based on the perspective of policymakers or business managers, lacking consumer perspective observation and feedback, resulting in positive bias in evaluation results, and relatively less consideration of factors such as locality and social psychology in ethnic areas. This article takes the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, which is rich in tourism resources but has a fragile ecological environment and relatively backward economy,as an example to construct an evaluation index for the carrying capacity of the ecological tourism environment and conduct a study on the evaluation of the carrying capacity of the tourism environment from the perspective of consumer observation. The results show that the comprehensive tourism environment in the study area is in a sub-carrying state, with a large space for eco-tourism development.Natural resources are not only a competitive advantage for the development of local tourism, but also the biggest limiting factor. It is urgent to increase efforts in green transformation and development, capital investment, and the introduction of high-quality management talents. In addition, the development level of local ethnic and cultural tourism resources is relatively low,and the tourism transportation, catering, accommodation, and reception capabilities,as well as infrastructure conditions, need to be improved. This study is an exploratory attempt to explore, restructure, and evaluate the carrying capacity of the eco-tourism environment from multiple perspectives. It can provide references for optimizing the allocation of local tourism resources and high-quality development of the tourism industry.
