Experimental teaching design of"influence of environmental factors on the growth of microorganism"——A case study of Serratia marcescens
The influence of environmental factors on microbial growth is a fundamental aspect of microbiology ex-periments and an important technical tool for students to understand and utilize microorganisms. In this study,we designed experiments based on the characteristics of Serratia marcescens to explore the effects of temperature,sa-linity,pH,oxygen,and antibiotics on microbial growth.Compared to the conventional strains such as Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis,Serratia marcescens exhibits more vivid, varied, and colorful experimental phenomena. These results can be observed through multiple dimensions, including growth rate, reproduction, and the metabolic level of prodigiosin, which helps to stimulate students'enthusiasm and interest in learning and inspires deeper thinking and exploration.
