摘要
作为海外藏学的重要组成部分,17世纪以来的传教报告、游历记录以及影像资料涉及藏地地理地形、水文气候、日常生活、社会制度、宗教现象以及汉藏关系等内容,弥补了同期汉藏文献记载不足的缺憾,特别是大量影像资料对于研究近代藏地自然地理与社会生活极具史料价值.这些数量庞大的涉藏文本通过凝视与想象策略建构出兼具贬损化与理想化为一体的环喜马拉雅藏地形象,成为东方主义"他者化"藏地文化的经典案例.通过对近400年来海外不同阶段涉藏文本进行系统解读,一方面可以发现这些类型多样、涉猎面广且受众接受度高的文本已经成为东方主义将藏地文化"他者化"的经典案例,另一方面这些涉藏文本也是近代以来环喜马拉雅藏地形象400年变迁的重要见证.
Abstract
As an important component of overseas Tibetan studies,missionary reports,travel records,and visual materials since the 17th century cover the geographical terrain,hydrological and climatic conditions,daily life,social systems,religious phenomena,and Han-Tibetan relations of Tibet,filling the gap in insufficient documentation of Chineses Tibetan literature during the same period.In particular,a large amount of visual materials have great historical value for studying the natural geography and social life of modern Tibet.These massive Tibetan texts,constructed through gaze and imagination strategies,combine derogatory and idealized images of the circum-Himalayan Tibetan region,becoming a classic case of Orientalist otherization of Tibetan culture.By systematically interpreting Tibetan texts from different stages overseas in the past 400 years,it can be found that these diverse types,wide coverage,and highly accepted texts have become classic cases of Orientalism's"otherization"of Tibetan culture.On the other hand,these Tibetan texts are also important witnesses to the 400-year changes of the image of the circum-Himalayan Tibetan region in modern times.
