The study of Indian think tanks'perceptions of the leadership struggle between China and India over the"Global South"will not only provide the necessary intelligence support to advance China's diplomatic agenda of the"Global South"in the new era into a brand new stage of development, but also help to promote South-South co-operation in an in-depth manner. This study selects 22 representative research results from six mainstream Indian think tanks as our research samples, and used literature analysis, quantitative analysis and other research methods to examine the main perceptions and characteristics of Indian think tanks on China's role in the"Global South",its influence and how to deal with it.This study finds that, driven by ideology, practical interests and competition for power,Indian think tanks generally have negative perceptions of China's leadership of the"Global South",and the evolution of these perceptions has continued to harden, generally ignoring China's role in promoting South-South cooperation. This study recommends deepening China-India strategic mutual trust, attaching importance to value leadership, enhancing Sino-India think tank dialogues, accelerating the construction of a diplomatic discourse system of the"Global South"with Chinese characteristics, and promoting joint development and sharing between China and the"Global South".
