Strategic considerations and constraints for India Strengthening Defense and Security Cooperation with Central Asian Countries
India's growing economic and military power gives it the ability to rationalize its defense diplomacy on a global scale.In recent years,the deepening of defense and security cooperation between India and Central Asian countries has mainly reflected in the promotion of the Modi government,the growing interactions between defense ministers,the cooperation on defense equipment and technology,the joint military exercises,and the defense and security cooperation in the direction of institutionalization.India promotion of defense and security cooperation with Central Asian countries is reflecting that India regards Central Asia as an important link in its geo-security strategy,reflecting the strategic expectations of Central Asian countries on India in regional security.However,the traditional influence of Russia in Central Asia,the geographical barrier and India's lack of overall planning of defense and diplomacy restrict the in-depth promotion of defense and security cooperation between India and Central Asian countries.
