摘要
数字经济是新一轮科技革命和产业变革的前沿领域,不仅广泛提升了经济效率,对收入分配格局也产生了深刻影响.本文从近年来欧洲国家数字经济蓬勃发展与收入不平等加剧这一关联特征出发,刻画出数字经济发展进程对收入不平等的影响与作用机制.本文基于2007-2019年欧洲36国面板数据,测算数字经济发展的水平指标,实证检验数字经济发展对收入不平等的影响.研究结果表明,欧洲国家数字经济发展能够通过提升人力资本的相对规模,显著地改善收入不平等.然而,由于其对收入分配效应主要存在于发达国家,欧洲数字经济发展易于造成国家之间收入差距的扩大.
Abstract
Digital economy is one strategic area under the new round of scientific and technological revo-lution and industrial transformation,which has not only extensively improved economic effi-ciency,but had a profound impact on the pattern of income distribution.Starting from the correlative feature between the booming digital economy and the rising income inequality in the European countries in recent years,this article portrays the impact mechanism of the de-velopment of digital economy on income inequality.Based on the panel data of 36 European countries in 2007-2019,this article measures the level indicators of digital economic devel-opment and empirically tests the impact of digital economy on income inequality.Our findings suggest that digital economic development in the European countries can significantly reduce income inequality by raising the relative size of human capital.However,as its effects on in-come distribution are mainly found in the developed countries,the development of the digital economy in Europe is prone to widening the income disparities between different countries.
