The adaptation of Liaozhai zhiyi into films has spanned a century of vicissitudes.Looking back at the historical evolution of the adaptation of Liao-zhai in film and television,we can observe the permeation,reflection,and trans-formation of social culture,and gain insight into the creative path,artistic pur-pose,and contemporary value of the adaptation of this classic work.The adap-tation of Liaozhai in film and television began with a performance model that was faithful to the original work,excerpted,and borrowed,and has gone through a collage model of form and spirit,grafting,and mixing,and finally to an inte-grated model that subverts the original meaning,reconstructs,and replaces.In the context of the new era,the creation of Liaozhai in film and television should delve deeply into enhancing the research atmosphere,exploring cultural re-sources,innovating narrative methods,expanding film and television tourism,and creating high-quality content,in order to inherit traditional culture,shape cultur-al brands,and build the soft power of chinese culture.
