[Purpose/significance]Silver-haired tourism is becoming a new model to promote the"aging for fun"of older adults.By ex-ploring the influencing factors and logical connotations of older adults'information behavior in the process of tourism,we can provide suggestions for multiple actors to promote healthy and active tourism activities for older adults.[Method/process]This research con-ducted in-depth interviews with 24 older travelers, using activity theory as the framework, exploratory coding analysis of interview data using grounded theory.[Result/conclusion]It was found that older adults'tourism information behaviors include four types of informa-tion acquisition, information utilization, content creation, and content sharing;participation motivation, role categories and traits,tech-nology affordances, subjective and objective conditions, social support, and division of labor and cooperation are the core factors influ-encing older adults'tourism information behaviors.Different influencing factors affect different types of older adults'tourism informa-tion behavior in the activity theory subsystem, respectively. This study can provide insights for multiple actors to promote seniors'smart tourism activities from the supply side and demand side.[Innovation/limitation]With the activity theory framework, this research systematically and dynamically unravels the stage-generating mechanisms of older adults'travel information behavior. However, this study has limitations in terms of large sample generalizability, coding openness, research methodology, and affordances interpretation.
