The construction and truth redemption of Benjamin's"productive"literary criticism
In the history of literary criticism in the 20th century,Walter Benjamin is a very thoughtful and creative critic.Faced with the changing in the structure of human experience and the predicament of literary criticism being ignored in Germany,Benjamin,through his attention and reflection on literature,takes"creative evaluation"as the task of criticism,especially through the study of Baroque mourning plays,puts literary criticism in the position of meaning reconstruction of fragments.He proposes that criticism is not simply expressing opinions on works,but penetration into the hidden contents in a dialectical way,turns the historical content provided for each work of art into philosophical truth,makes criticism a unique way of meaning interpretation,value reconstruction and truth redemption,and highlights the"productive"essence of criticism and the inherent production mechanism of the text.All of this is intended to salvage the traces of the Messiah,to save the truth content in the phenomenal world,that is,to obtain salvation in the theological way and to the level of truth.Therefore,"artistic production"in the sense of Benjamin is not only the creator's emphasis on literary technology,but also the reader,the critic and the producer of the text to implement the meaning generation process of the work.This shows that Benjamin's theory of art production is by no means a one-dimensional theory,but full of inherent richness and complexity.
