On the empowerment and disempowerment of interpreters by fields from the perspective of knowledge-power theory
From the perspective of knowledge-power theory, through the analysis of real interpreting scenes, this paper studies the empowerment and disempowerment of interpreters in different fields. It is found that the characteristics and requirements of different fields affect the power of interpreters, and the richness and applicability of field knowledge determine the performance and power of interpreters in a specific field.Interpreters with relevant knowledge can better judge the empowerment and disempowerment of the interpreting field and process information accordingly.Field and field knowledge are interrelated and influence each other on the empowerment and disempowerment of interpreters. The fusion and variability of the interpreting fields can also cause changes in the power of interpreters. Therefore, interpreters should pay attention to the influence of fields and conduct reasonable and effective interpretation within the scope of power granted by different fields.
