Study on the spatial effects of fintech empowering rural revitalization
Rural revitalization relies heavily on effective financial support, and as a technology-driven financial innovation, fintech can provide robust financial backing for rural revitalization. This study examines the mechanism through which fintech development impacts rural revitalization and conducts empirical tests using panel data from 30 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions of China over the period from 2012 to 2021.Regression methods such as OLS,GMM,Ⅳ-2SLS,and SDM are employed. The findings are as follows:The findings are as follows:First, fintech development has a significant positive impact on rural revitalization overall,as well as on its three sub-dimensions-industrial prosperity, ecological livability, and affluent living. However, the impact on effective governance and rural civilization is not significant.Second,a significant positive spatial spillover effect of rural revitalization is observed, while local fintech development has an inhibitory effect on rural revitalization in related provinces.Based on these findings, the study proposes several countermeasures and suggestions, including strengthening the construction of fintech infrastructure in rural areas, promoting regional synergistic development of rural revitalization, encouraging innovation in fintech products and services, integrating financial technology with rural development, and improving the rural governance system.
