Effect of Citric Acid on Properties of Magnesium Oxysulfate Cement
The effects of citric acid on the properties of MOS cement with different w/c ratios(the mass ratio of MgSO4 solution to MgO)were studied, and the dosage of citric acid was 0.3%,0.5%and 0.6%,respectively.The fluidity, rheological parameters, hydration ki-netics and mechanical properties of MOS slurries with different dosage citric acid were test-ed,and the microstructure of magnesium oxysulfate cement was analyzed by scanning elec-tron microscope(SEM).The results showed that citric acid can improve the fluidity of mag-nesium oxysulfate cement and decelerate the hydration of MOS and changed the rheological parameters of magnesium oxysulfate cement. Moreover, with the addition of citric acid, the hydration products of magnesium oxysulfate cement hydration were different from that of the control sample.By studying the effect of citric acid dosage on the compressive strength under 90%high humidity curing conditions,it is found that the compressive strength of the samples with different w/c ratios of magnesium oxysulfate cement mixed with citric acid is 2-3.5 times of that of the control samples, indicating that the addition of citric acid can sig-nificantly improve the water resistance of magnesium oxysulfate cement, which is of great significance for its practical application.
