Br?nsted-Lewis Acidic Deep Eutectic Solvents as Catalysts for Rosin Polymerization
A series of Brønsted-Lewis acidic deep eutectic solvents(DESs)were synthesized and used to catalyze the rosin polymerization. The catalyst ZnCl2/2 CH3 COOH with the highest catalytic activity was selected. The effects of different molar ratio composition of DES,the dosage of DES catalyst, reaction temperature, and reation time on rosin polymeri-zation were fully investigated. The optimum conditions of rosin polymerization were m(ros-in)=15 g,m(DES)=5 g,V(toluene)=5.4 mL,V(n-octane)=12.6 mL,110℃and 10 h.The softening point of the polymerized rosin could be acheived to 139.4℃under these opti-mum conditions.DES could be reused after separation from the reactants. It was found that the catalyst still had a good catalytic property after five cycles.
