Investigation of Flow Field Characteristics in Stirred Tank with Improved Three-Pitched Blade-Rushton Combined Impeller Using Particle Image Velocimetry
The flow field characteristics in stirred tank with improved three-pitched blade-rushton combined impeller was carried out by particle image velocimetry(PIV).It was stud-ied in glycerol-water solution of the variation of the flow field in the tank at different rota-tional speeds N,distance from the bottom C1 and blade spacing C2.The research results show that:when the rotation speed N=100 r·min-1,the mixing effect of the upper blade section is improved, and the velocity distribution between the blades is relatively uniform;when the distance from the bottom C1=0.3H,the low speed area of the upper blade section is the smallest, and the internal mixing effect of the stirring tank gets its best;when the blade spacing C2=0.25H,the low-speed area of the upper blade section is promoted and the mixing effect is improved as well as the speed distribution between the two blades tends to be stable in this situation, which is conducive to mixing and mass transfer. The research results provide a relevant reference for the application of the improved three-pitched blade-rushton combined impeller in practical engineering.
