Synthesis of Poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(N-hexylglycine)Block Polymers and Self-assembly in Acetonitrile/Chloroform Mixture
Molecular self-assembly is a ubiquitous phenomenon in living systems. The com-plex structures formed by molecular self-assembly play an important role in biological func-tions.Polypeptoids are a promising class of peptidomimetic polymers with highly designable structures and controllable self-assembly,which provide excellent unique properties for both fundamental research and applications in biotechnology. In this paper,a type of diblock polypeptoid poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(N-hexylglycine)(PEG-b-PNHG)with good crystallization performance was synthesized via ring-opening polymerization(ROP).The structure and crystallization behaviors of PEG-b-PNHG were characterized and analyzed. The polymer can spontaneously assemble into a plate-like micellar aggregate structure in ace-tonitrile/chloroform mixture driven by crystallization of PNHG block. In view of the excel-lent biocompatibility and structural diversity, the obtained assemblies show good applica-tions value in the fields of drug delivery and bioengineering.
