Effect of Rotating Speed on Cyclopentane Hydrate Formation in Biaxial Reactor
As a new type of cold storage medium, cyclopentane hydrate has the problems of slow growth rate, adherent growth, and difficulty in continuous production. In order to solve the problems,a biaxial stirring structure is used in this work to produce hydrate.Flu-ent is used to simulate the mixing and flow characteristics of multiphase flow inside the reac-tor at different speeds, and an experimental bench is built for experimental verification. The results show that when the speed is less than 280 r·min-1,as the increase of stirring speed, the turbulent dissipation rate increases, and the distribution of hydrate particles is more uni-form.But when the rotation speed is more than 280 r·min-1,the agglomeration and depo-sition of particles in the reaction chamber are intensified, resulting in blockage and greatly increased reaction energy consumption. The experimental results show that the reaction rate and hydrate production can be improved by increasing the rotational speed appropriately. When the hydrate is less than or equal to 250 r·min-1,the hydrate structure quality is high and the economic efficiency is good.In conclusion, the biaxial reactor can promote the con-tinuous production of cyclopentane hydrate, and 250 r·min-1 is the most suitable speed.
