辛亥革命时期,有很多清朝官吏转向革命,徐定超就是其中之一.他曾任清朝监察御史,享有直声.温州光复时,由于新旧士绅之间的争权夺利,赋予他执掌温州军政分府的机会.对于他的这个短暂执政经历,其乡人高度肯定,认为百废皆兴,但借助当时的报刊等资料,重新进行审视,则并非如此.他实际难以胜任这样的岗位,所能做的只是敷衍补苴、求尽奉职而已,基本没有什么大作为,更遑论治绩了.历史研究以求真、求实为目的,应该基于历史主义的原则,给予实事求是的评价.
Abstract
During the Revolution of 1911,there are many officials in the Qing Dynasty who turned turned to revolution,and Xu Dingchao was one of them.He once served as Investigating Censor of the Qing Dynasty and enjoyed a reputation for integrity.When Wenzhou was recovered,he was given the opportunity to run the military governments of Wenzhou due to the struggle for power between the old and new gentry.Local people were highly positive about his brief reign,believing that everything was fine.However,with the help of newspapers and other materials of the time,this was not the case.In fact,he was not qualified for such a position,all he could do was to deal with his responsibilities carelessly,and he had done little,not to mention any political achievements.Historical research aims at seeking truth and truth,and should be evaluated on the basis of the principle of historicism.
