Analysis and Teaching Suggestions of Reading Strategy Units in Elementary Chinese Textbooks:A Case Study of the Unified Edition
In order to enhance students̓ reading abilities,the unified edition of elementary Chinese textbooks has arranged four reading strategy units starting from the third grade:prediction,questio-ning,increasing reading speed,and purposeful reading.The aim is to teach students basic reading strategies,improve their reading abilities,and cultivate them into active readers.The reading strategy units focus on learning reading strategies.During lesson preparation,attention should be paid to the u-nit's overall coherence,considering the connection and progression between each units.In the predic-tion unit,emphasis should be placed on the perspective and basis of predictions.In the questioning u-nit,attention should be given to the angle of questioning and the selection of questions.Reading speed should be managed with certain strategies to enhance speed through mastering reading methods,while also considering the synchronous relationship between reading speed and comprehension.The teaching of purposeful reading strategies should focus on reading objectives,as the purpose is crucial in informa-tion selection.
