Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Dye Molecules by A Mn-based Complex
A new Mn complex was synthesized from MnSO4·H2O and 4-(3,5-dicarboxyphenyl)-picolinic acid(H3pja)as raw materials by hydrothermal method. Its molecular formula is[Mn3(H2pja)2(Hpja)2(H2O)8]·2H2O(Complex Mn).The structure of the complex was analyzed by sin-gle crystal X-ray diffraction. The results show that the complex is zero-dimensional structure. The phase purity was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The photocatalytic degradation properties of Complex Mn on organic dye molecules methyl orange(MO)and Rhodamine B(RhB)under visible light irradiation were studied. The results showed that Complex Mn had a certain catalytic degradation effect on MO with a degradation rate of 61.9%,while RhB had a better catalytic degradation effect with a degradation rate of 98.5%.
