Study on Digital Storytelling Ability in Foreign Languages of Chinese College Students
Telling Chinese stories through short videos is an important way for college students to tell stories well and have the Chinese voice to be heard.In order to explore the current situation of college students'digital storytelling ability in foreign languages and their understanding of this ability,a frame-work of digital storytelling ability in foreign languages including storytelling ability in foreign languages and digital media literacy was constructed,and an investigation was conducted through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews.The study found that college students showed a good understanding of their own culture when narrating Chinese stories,but had insufficient understanding of foreign cultures;they had good network security protection ability and network ethics,but their media tool usage ability and network information acquisition and integration ability were average;storytelling ability,especially organizational ability and pragmatic ability,needed to be improved;they lacked awareness of the con-cept of digital storytelling in foreign languages and had insufficient narrative willingness,so they hoped to receive professional knowledge and skills guidance.
