Scientific and technological innovation pours energy into economic development,and eco-nomic development promotes scientific and technological innovation.In spite of our continuous explora-tion in the field of scientific and technological innovation,the problem of imbalance and incoordination between the two systems of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality economic develop-ment still exists.In order to further clarify the coupling and coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development in northern Jiangsu,based on the rel-evant research at home and abroad,from the two sub-systems of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development,the evaluation index system is constructed respectively,the state of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development in northern Jiangsu from 2012 to 2021 was measured and analyzed by using entropy weight method and fuzzy com-prehensive evaluation method,and the coupling coordination degree model was used to integrate the two subsystems,the paper evaluated and analyzed the level,types and spatio-temporal evolution char-acteristics of the coupling and coordinated development of science and technology innovation and high-quality economic development.We found that in the past 10 years,the level of scientific and techno-logical innovation and high-quality economic development in northern Jiangsu has been rising continu-ously,and there is a large space for the development,the coupling and coordinated development of sci-entific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development in the five cities in north-ern Jiangsu is basically from the type of imbalance to the type of coordination,but they have not reached a good coordination and quality coordination type.The coupling coordination degree of scien-tific and technological innovation and high-quality economic development in northern Jiangsu is a pat-tern of"High east-west and low middle".Based on the above research,the paper puts forward the suggestions of adapting measures to local conditions,implementing the strategy of innovation develop-ment,strengthening the foundation,improving the level of scientific and technological innovation,in-novating and integrating,and promoting the development of industrial economy,with a view to further promote high-quality coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and the econo-my in northern Jiangsu.
