Effect of solution-focused approach on gastrointestinal function, anxiety, and depression in patients after endoscopic mucosal resection of gastric polyps
Objective To investigate the effect of solution-focused approach on gastrointestinal function, anxiety, and de-pression in patients after endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)of gastric polyps. Methods A total of 90 patients who attended our hospital after EMR from May 2022 to May 2023 were enrolled and divided into control group and intervention group according to the intervention method, with 45 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received routine nursing, while those in the intervention group received solution-focused nursing. The two groups were compared in terms of postoperative recovery time, anxiety and depression,self-perceived burden, complications, and degree of satisfaction with nursing. Results After interven-tion,both groups had significant reductions in fasting time, time to first flatus, time to first bowel sound, length of postoperative hospital stay,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale score,Self-Rating Depression Scale score, and self-perceived burden score(Z=2.032-4.213,t=2.991-22.922,P<0.05),and the intervention group had significantlylower levels of these indicators than the control group(Z=1.965-3.678,t=2.541-12.414,P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the intervention group had a significant-ly lower incidence rate of infectious complications(x2=4.444,P<0.05)and a significantly higher degree of satisfaction with nur-sing(Z=3.510,P<0.05).Conclusion For patients undergoing EMR due to gastric polyps, the application of the solution-fo-cused approach can facilitate the recovery of gastrointestinal function after EMR,alleviate the negativeemotions of anxiety and de-pression,and improve the experience with nursing.
