Study on Shell Tomb of Han Dynasty in Qingdao Area
Shell tomb was a burial form with regional characteristics,mainly discovered in the Circum-Bohai-Sea region in previous years.In Qingdao,a total of 20 shell tombs have been excavated in recent years,a number of precious cultural relics have been unearthed and a large number of shellfish specimens have been collected.From the late Warring States to the early Western Han Dynasty,it has spread to the coastal areas near Jiaozhou Bay and gradually disappeared during the Eastern Han Dynasty.In the Han Dynasty,the economic interaction and cultural exchange between Qingdao region and Liaodong Peninsula,Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions were already very active.It was a bridgehead for Shandong's outward exchange and an important maritime transportation hub connecting the north and south.It was also one of the important nodes of the Maritime Silk Road at that time.
