How Does Family Background Influence Interprovincial Employment Return of University Students?——An Empirical Study Based on Employment Aspiration Survey Data of Yunnan-native College Students in Beijing
Employment aspirations significantly influence the job mobility of university students.This study utilized a questionnaire survey targeting students from Yunnan Province studying in Beijing,employing a combined quantitative research approach of Logit models and Shapley decomposition,sup-plemented by semi-structured interviews.The research examined how family background affects students'tendencies to return to their home provinces for employment and their preferred employment sectors and geographical regions.Findings indicate that family background significantly impacts students'intentions to return to their home provinces for employment.Students whose parents hold managerial positions in governmental or public institutions tend to show a higher propensity to return to their provinces and seek positions within governmental systems.Economically,students from wealthier families are less likely to return to their home provinces for employment and are less inclined to pursue positions within the public sector.Culturally,students with more highly educated parents are less like-ly to seek employment in their home provinces.Moreover,students from affluent backgrounds with well-educated parents are more inclined to seek employment in the provincial capitals.
