The tea and the silk printed with Chinese characters unearthed from the Guru Jiamu Cemetery near the site of Qionglong Yincheng in Zhangzhung hinterland proved that at the latest in the Han and Jin dynasties, the traditional Land Silk Road already expanded an important branch line that went through the core area of Zhangzhung. The Plateau Silk Road facilitated the formation and development of a comprehensive traffic circulation network.During its period of greatest expansion, the territory of Zhangzhung was centred on Ali Gangdise Mountain and Upper Xiangquan River, with a west-to-east expansion. The eastward spread of Zhangzhung civiliztion, with the main line of Bon culture, had a profound impact on the small states in the southeast of Xizang and the former Yalong dynasty of Tubo. The interaction and integration of Zhangzhung civilization with the central plains culture during its eastward spread had important historical and practical significance for the promotion of the integration of various ethnic groups on the Qinghai-Xizang plateau into the pattern of diverse and integrated culture of the Chinese nation.
