Objective To understand the current status of pediatric teaching and the demand for teacher training of pe-diatric teachers.Methods A survey was conducted by questionnaire star among 821 teachers who participated in the second national training course for pediatric cadre teachers.The content involved basic information of teachers,the cur-rent status of pediatric teaching,the current status of curriculum ideology and politics in pediatric courses,and the de-mand of teachers for training courses.Results Totally 821 survey questionnaires were distributed and collected.There were 821 valid questionnaires,with an effective rate of 100%.Totally 609(74.18%)of the teachers were satisfied with the current status of pediatric teaching.Average overall score of questionnaire star(AOSS)was used to rank the problems in pediatric teaching,curriculum ideology and politics,and the needs of teachers for training courses.The results show that the main problem in pediatric teaching was the shortage of pediatric teachers(AOSS 2.96),the most important prob-lem in curriculum ideology and politics was insufficient attention from institutions(AOSS 4.02),the main purpose of teachers participating in training was to learn new teaching concepts,theories,and methods(AOSS 4.56).Conclusion It is necessary to face up to the shortage of pediatric teachers,and increase investment,strengthen the construction of cur-riculum ideology and politics,so as to enhance the professional identity to pediatricians and mobilize the enthusiasm of pediatric teachers.Then strengthen teacher training to improve teaching level and quality.
