Simulation Study on Precooling of Nozzles for Air Cooling Island
The heat transfer effect of direct air-cooled islands is severely affected by temperature. In order to improve the cooling effect of air-cooled islands under high temperature conditions in summer, spray cooling technology is often used. This article takes a certain air cooling unit in the northwest region as an example and uses CFD simulation to analyze the effects of nozzle spray angle, nozzle spray volume, and nozzle spray pressure on cooling effectiveness. In order to better analyze the spatial development of droplets ejected by the nozzle and quantify the cooling effect, this article adopts a new cooling efficiency. The research results indicate that within the parameters studied in this article, the cooling efficiency gradually improves with the increase of flow distance. The amount of water sprayed has the greatest impact on the cooling efficiency, with cooling efficiencies of 24.472%and 48.071%at 0.48kg/s and 1.58kg/s,respectively,almost doubling the cooling efficiency. The influence of nozzle spray pressure is slightly weaker, and the influence of nozzle spray angle is the smallest. When adjusting nozzle parameters,it is important to consider the amount and pressure of nozzle spray.
