APPLICATION OF ADAPTIVE STATISTICAL ITERATIVE RECONSTRUCTION-V TECHNIQUE OF LOW DOSE CT SCANNING OF CHILDREN'S ABDOMEN
Objective To assess the application value of adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction V technique (Asir-V) of low dose scanning of abdomen in children. Methods Sixty children with abdominal pain were evenly randomized to three groups as A,B and C.ACT scanning was conducted in all the children with scan parameters as follows:spiral scanning with 100 kV,automatic tube current 10-450 mA,layer thickness 2.5 mm,pitch 0.992,and noise index was 9.The presetting Asir-V percentage was 30%,50% and 70% in groups A,B and C,respectively. The mean values of CT and standard deviation (SD) of muscle of the right side of the portal, the lower pole of the right kidney, the back of the pubic symphysis and dose length product (DLP) were measured, respectively. The effective dose (ED) was computed. The CT films were independently read by two doctors and the image quality was subjectively rated and compared. Results The difference in SD between the three groups was not significant (P>0.05),while the difference was significant with the elevation of Asir-V and decline of DLP and ED (F=39.397,19.156;q=3.347-12.231;P<0.05).The image quality of the three groups were in line with the requirements of clinical diagnosis (≥3 marks),and the two doctors had good agreement in reading the films. Conclusion With the improvement of Asir-V technique and stabilization of image noise, the radiation dose can be effectively reduced.
