VACUUM SEALING DRAINAGE FOR SKIN GRAFT FIXING IN CHILDREN WITH DEEP BURN WOUNDS
Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) for skin graft fixation in children with deep hurn wound. Methods Clinical data of 62 burn children were retrospectively analyzed.Among the patients,VSD was applied in 29 patients to fix the skin graft in observation group, and a traditional compression fixation (TCF) of skin graft was used in 33 patients to fix the skin graft in control group.A comparison between the two groups was done regarding positive rate of bacterial culture, graft survival rate, appearance, satisfaction with function and treatment costs. Results The positive rate of bacterial culture in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P =0.026),the survival rate of skin graft was higher in the observation group versus the control group (t =3.89,P<0.01),the parent satisfaction was higher in the observation group versus the control group (t=4.11,P<0.01),and the treatment costs were higher in the observation group (t =6.84,P<0.05).Conclusion Applying vacuum sealing drainage for skin graft fixation in the treatment of burn wounds can reduce wound infection rate, promote skin graft survival rate and improve skin appearance, but the cost of treatment is relatively high.
