CHARACTERISTICS AND MECHANISM OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT IN PATIENTS WITH DEPRESSION
Objective To analyze the characteristics,mechanism,and related influencing factors for cognitive impairment in patients with depression and to improve the cognitive function of patients with depression.Methods A total of 54 pa tients with depression who were admitted to our hospital from January to December,2015 were enrolled as the study group.Another 54 healthy subjects in the same period were selected as the control group.The cognitive function test results were compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were significant differences in the total number of tests,the number of consecutive errors,the number of random errors,the number of random correct results,operating time,thinking time,and continuous test time in Wisconsin Card Sorting Test between the two groups (t =9.34-23.56,P＜0.05).The study group had significant improvements in the above indices after treatment (t =8.20-29.97,P＜0.05).Conclusion Depression will cause some damage to the cognitive function of patients.After treatment,the cognitive function will gradually improve with the improvementin clinical symptoms,but it is difficult to return to normal in a short time.
