ONE CASE OF RETROPERITONEAL CASTLEMAN DISEASE COMPLICATED BY PARANEOPLASTIC PEMPHIGUS AND LITERATURE REVIEW
Objective To investigate the features of retroperitoneal CASTLEMAN disease (RPCD) complicated by paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) and related diagnosis and treatment experience. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of one patient with RPCD complicated by PNP who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital, and literature review was also performed. Results The patient was a 33-year-old man with an initial symptom of oral pemphigus and had poor response to glucocorticoids.Oral mucosal biopsy showed pemphigus.Pelvic contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed a retroperitoneal space-occupying lesion. An open surgery was performed and postoperative pathological examination suggested RPCD.The symptom of pemphigus was gradually alleviated after surgery:Conclusion This disease is rare and its diagnosis is often delayed.Surgery is the radical treatment of this disease, but skin and mucosal symptoms may last for a long time after surgery.
