MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING FINDINGS OF NON-PUERPERAL MASTITIS AND ITS DIAGNOSTIC VALUE
Objective To investigate the clinical value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the differential diagnosis of non-puerperal mastitis (NPM).Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the preoperative MRI data of 57 patients with NPM and 31 with breast cancer who were admitted to our hospital, and the value indices of MRI in the diagnosis of NPM were calculated. Results There were no significant differences in lesion diameter and T1WI signal intensity between the NPM group and the breast cancer group (P>0.05),while there were significant differences between the two groups in T2WI signal intensity, incidence of edema around lesions, enhancement pattern, distribution of dynamic enhancement curve, and apparent diffusion coefficient (x2 =3.809 12.196,P <0.05).MRI had a sensitivity of 84.21%,a specificity of 67.74%,a missed diagnosis rate of 15.79 %,and a misdiagnosis rate of 32.26% in the diagnosis of NPM,as well as a coincidence rate of 78.41% with pathological diagnosis. Conclusion MRI has a high sensitivity and a relatively low specificity in the differential diagnosis of NPM,and it should be combined with other examinations in clinical practice to make a comprehensive diagnosis.
