EFFECT OF HYDROPHILIC SILVER ION DRESSINGS VERSUS SILVER SULFADIAZINE IN TREATMENT OF DEEP SECOND-DEGREE BURN WOUNDS
Objective To investigate the effect of hydrophilic silver ion dressings versus silver sulfadiazine in the treatment of deep second-degree burn wounds. Methods A total of 100 patients with deep second-degree burns who received treatment in our hospital from February 2014 to February 2016 were equally and randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was treated with sliver sulfadiazine, while the observation group was treated with hydrophilic silver ion dressing. The two groups were compared in terms of the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6),Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score, wound healing rate at different time points, wound healing time, and the incidence of adverse events after treatment. Results After treatment, the observation group had significantly lower levels of TNF-α and IL-6 and VAS score than the control group (t =3.638-11.369,P<0.05).The observation group had significantly higher wound healing rates on days 7,12,and 17 of treatment and significantly shorter wound healing time than the control group (t=4.033-9.898,P<0.05).No adverse events were seen in both groups. Conclusion Hydrophilic silver ion dressing has a better effect than silver sulfadiazine in the treatment of deep second degree burn wounds,so it holds promise for clinical application.
