EFFECT OF NONINVASIVE DELIVERY ON OUTCOMES OF MOTHER AND INFANT
Objective To investigate the effect of noninvasive delivery on the outcomes of mother and infant. Methods A total of 100 low-risk primiparas with full term singleton fetus who were admitted to our hospital to perform vaginal delivery were equally and randomly divided into observation group and control group. The observation group underwent noninvasive delivery, and appropriate perineal protection would be performed if necessary. The control group underwent traditional delivery and perineal pro tection. The rate of lateral episiotomy, time of the second stage of labor, neonatal Apgar score, and the degree of maternal satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the second stage of labor, postpartum bleeding (2 h after labor),and neonatal Apgar score between the two groups (P>0.05).The observation group had a sig nificantly lower rate of lateral episiotomy than the control group (x2 =11.111,P<0.05).There was a significant difference in the degree of maternal satisfaction between the two groups (Z=2.288,P<0.05).Conclusion Noninvasive delivery can effectively reduce the rate of lateral episiotomy without increasing the risk of mother and infant, and it is a safe and feasible delivery method.
