Strategy and research progress of targeted-radionuclide therapy based on fibroblast activation protein inhibitor
Objective To review the strategies and research progress of targeted-radionuclide therapy(TRT)based on fi-broblast activating protein inhibitors(FAPI),providing reference for comprehensive treatment of tumors. Methods We retrieved the articles from January 2018 to December by PubMed with"FAPI,therapy and tumor"as keywords and se-lected data according to the inclusion criteria as follows:(1)Targeted-radionuclide therapy based on FAPI;(2)Optimize FAPI metabolism profile in vivo.Exclusion criteria:nontargeted-radionuclide therapy based on FAPI during this period.According to the above criteria,39 articles were selected and analyzed. Results Through optimizing the probe, the pur-pose of increasing drug uptake and prolonging drug retention at the tumor site is successfully achieved, thus improving the therapeutic effect and reducing side effects. At present, many studies have observed its good efficacy and safety in vivo. However,in order to determine whether FAPI-based TRT is truly as effective as these results have indicated,well-de-signed prospective studies are needed. Conclusion FAPI-based targeted-radionuclide therapy provides a novel method for tumor therapy and is one of the research hotspots in recent years. With the deepening of research,TRT based on FAPI is expected to be better applied to tumor treatment.
